Eleven years ago, the National Centre for Competence in Research (NCCR) in Chemical Biology funded by the SNSF, started with ambitious goals. Many of the problems that the NCCR Chemical Biology focused on concern membranes and how they impact cellular signaling. Today, a whole issue of Chimia showcases our signature achievements with an editorial written by former NCCR Director, Prof. Howard Riezman, three articles from the NCCR Chemical Biology and four from people who have collaborated with us.
