The National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Chemical Biology and the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Geneva are opening a position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry, in the field of Chemical Biology
The Department of Organic Chemistry of the University of Geneva offers an innovative and vibrant scientific environment. It hosts the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research Chemical Biology. The NCCR provides access to an outstanding infrastructure and encourages collaborations within a network of chemists, biochemists, physicists and molecular and cell biologists with the general objective to develop innovative techniques to explore cellular processes. The research area of the successful candidate should be in the broad field of chemical biology, using organic chemistry methodology to study biological systems at the molecular level (ex. chemical proteomics, probe design and synthesis, fluorescent reporters, metabolic reengineering, chemical systems biology).
Full-time tenure-track position (40h/week). Duties include developing a research program at the highest international level, securing external funding and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Moreover, the successful candidate will supervise masters’ and doctoral theses and will take up administrative and organization duties at the departmental level.
ACADEMIC TITLE REQUESTED
PhD or equivalent. Experience in research supervision and teaching experience. Publications in high-ranked international journals.
