Our annual retreat will take place from June 7th to June 9th 2017 at the Eurotel Victoria in Villars-sur-Ollon (VD).
There will be one scientific session per interdisciplinary project chaired by the associated project leader (6 in total), two poster sessions and a strategy session. We have invited external speakers: Prof. Lyndon Emsley (ISIC, Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance, EPFL) and Prof. Bruno Correia (Lab. of Protein Design and Immunoengineering, EPFL). On Friday, Prof. Elena Goun (Dubikovskaya), PI, and Nour Lydia Mozaffari, winner of the Best Master thesis in Chemical Biology 2017, will also give a talk.
On Thursday afternoon, there will be two parallel workshops on gender equality facilitated by specialists. NCCR members will be divided in two groups depending on their involvement in personnel management :
– Senior NCCR members: “Innovative management toward Gender Equality”, by Nicole Aballéa, Public Management Specialist
– Junior NCCR members: “Is there a glass ceiling? Career perspectives in academia”, Dr. Klea Faniko, Senior Researcher, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, UNIGE
The social event planned this year includes a musical and dance event on the second evening!
Eurotel Victoria offers a swimming pool, sauna and a fitness room opened from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.
A scientific committee composed of NCCR members will select the three best posters for the Best Poster Awards. As a prize, the NCCR Chemical Biology will offer the registration and accommodation fees to attend any scientific meeting of their choice! Announcement of the winners will be done during the Concluding Remarks Session on Friday.
The retreat will start on Wednesday June 7th at 13:00 (arrival and sign-in) until Friday June 9th at approximately 16:00.
