Seminar series: Dennis Dougherty

Our next speaker is Dennis Dougherty, a Professor of Chemistry, at the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Caltech, USA. He will talk about “Chemistry on the Brain: Understanding the Nicotine Receptor”.

He will give 2 seminars:

  • on December 4th, in Lausanne: 17:15, EPFL CM2 auditorium (an ISIC seminar)
  • on December 5th, in Geneva: 16:30, UniGE Sci II, A100 auditorium

More about the speaker

Professor Dougherty’s research brings together the fields of computation, chemistry, physic and biology to study ion channels and neuroreceptors in the brain.
He is especially known for the discovery of the cation-π interaction and the study of the nicotine receptor.
