Despite the restrictions related to the COVID-19 situation, the NCCR Chemical Biology moves forward and invites its members to attend a new kind of poster session! An e-poster session allowing for networking, discussions is organized on Friday February 5, 2021. The session will be held via the interactive virtual platform Gather Town, offering a virtual customizable environment which allows for interactive elements, meeting spaces, and socializing spots. Our aim is to convey to all our members that they are part of something bigger than their lab and to partially restore, at least virtually, the lost interactivity we have enjoyed in the past.
We are aiming to receive at least one poster per lab and additionally kindly invite the NCCR Master students to present a poster about their research performed over the past year.
The deadline to register and/or submit an abstract is Monday January 18, kindly extended to Friday, January 22.
The posters can be prepared using any software (e.g.: PowerPoint, Illustrator, etc.). However, they have to be saved in the PDF format (not interactive). We recommend using a page size of at least A3 or larger. We recommend making your file smaller than 10 MB.
Posters will be presented during the respective poster live session whereby the presenter and participants will interact with audio and video – access limited to the registered participants. The poster files will be collected by the organizers solely for their upload in the platform Gather Town and will be deleted after the end of the event.
The deadline to send a PDF of your poster is Wednesday January 27, 2021. Please send your poster directly to Noëlle Rodembourg. No extension of this deadline will be possible as there is a lot of background preparation to manage once the material is collected.
1:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Connection to the platform Gather Town so you have time to create your avatar (!) and get familiar with the space and functionalities. Information will be sent ahead so no one is lost or feel isolated.
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm: The e- session starts with an allocution from Howard Riezman and one from Robbie Loewith followed by a poster session.
You will be able to:
- Discover posters and discuss on the spot with the poster presenter and any other person around
- Discuss in a small group or on a one-to-one basis in the comfortable lounge we will set up
- Know more on several salient NCCR deliverables to be discovered behind objects!
- There will also be some unexpected relaxing spots.
5:00 – 6:00 pm: the platform will stay open for an extra hour, if there is extra momentum.
It should be fun!
